Ice Spice celebrated the release of her debut album, “Y2K,” despite its lower-than-expected first-week sales of 28,000 album-equivalent units. The artist expressed gratitude to her fans for their support and excitement for her upcoming tour.

In a social media post, Ice Spice acknowledged the success of her previous EP, “Like..?,” which sold 15k units, and thanked both existing and new supporters. She emphasized the enjoyment of her current world tour and highlighted the energetic Boston crowd at her recent performance, with anticipation for her upcoming show in NYC.

Although “Y2K” debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200, it was slightly lower than the peak position of her EP at No. 15. Ice Spice also found success on the Hot 100 chart with four songs reaching the Top 10, all of which were collaborations. Her highest-charting song, “Karma,” was a guest feature on Taylor Swift’s album, peaking at No. 2.

The artist shared a personal anecdote about receiving the opportunity to collaborate with Taylor Swift, expressing disbelief and gratitude for the chance. Ice Spice also credited Nicki Minaj for contributing to two Top 10 hits and PinkPantheress for their successful collaboration on “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2.”

Despite the initial sales figures, Ice Spice remained optimistic and grateful for the support from her fans and collaborators.
