Drake surprised fans on Tuesday (August 6) by releasing 100GB of content on a website called 100gigs.org. Initially thought to be a leak, the release came from an Instagram account speculated to be Drake’s burner account.
Drake’s label OVO Sound confirmed that the content was not a leak and shared a link to the website on X (formerly known as Twitter). The release included three new songs, one of which featured Latto, who shared a snippet of the track on social media.
The other tracks featured collaborations with 21 Savage and Young Thug. In addition to the new songs, the website also featured behind-the-scenes footage of Drake from music videos and studio sessions.
This unexpected drop marked Drake’s first batch of new music since his much-discussed battle against Kendrick Lamar. Despite releasing a diss track in their beef, Drake was overshadowed by Kendrick Lamar, whose track “Not Like Us” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Kendrick Lamar further solidified his victory by performing the song multiple times at his Juneteenth concert and releasing a music video for “Not Like Us” in July. Meanwhile, Drake’s diss track, “The Heart Part 6,” was largely forgotten after its release in May.
