Drake Struggles to Sell California Home at $6 Million Loss
2024 was a tough year for Drake, and it seems like 2025 isn’t shaping up to be much better. The Canadian artist is facing difficulties selling his Beverly Hills home, which he bought in March 2022 and put back on the market in May 2023. Despite originally purchasing the 10-bedroom, 22-bath mansion for $75 million and listing it for $88 million, Drake is struggling to attract buyers.
According to Newsweek, Redfin estimates the value of Drake’s home at around $69 million, which is $6 million less than what he paid for it and $19 million less than his current asking price. The property was previously owned by British singer Robbie Williams, who sold it for a profit, unlike Drake who may face a significant loss if he sells at the current valuation.
Scott Gorelick, a realtor at The Agency RE in Beverly Hills, expressed skepticism about Drake’s asking price, noting that the location of the mansion may not be as desirable for buyers willing to pay top dollar. With Drake’s home languishing on the market for 248 days, it may be necessary for him to lower his asking price to attract potential buyers.
Challenges Facing Drake’s Beverly Hills Home Sale
Despite the allure of Beverly Hills real estate, Drake’s mansion is struggling to find a buyer due to its location and outdated features. Gorelick suggested that the property’s value may be closer to $60 million, citing the unusable hillside terrain and lackluster views compared to other prime locations in Beverly Hills Proper or Bel Air. Additionally, the home is in need of renovations, further complicating the sale process for the artist.
With most homes in Beverly Hills selling within two months, Drake’s prolonged listing period indicates a disconnect between his asking price and market demand. As he grapples with the prospect of selling at a loss from his initial investment, it remains to be seen whether the Canadian musician will be able to find a buyer willing to meet his price.
