And just like that, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have stopped the world once again! While on the European leg of their On The Run II tour, Bey and Jay decided to bless fans with a surprise joint album.
Under the duo’s name “The Carters,” the album – titled “Everything Is Love” –dropped Saturday (June 16) following their concert in Europe. Following its unexpected release, the album was initially dropped on Jay-Z’s streaming service Tidal – however it became available on all streaming services as of Monday (June 18). The album features nine songs, each credited to Jay and the Queen B herself, and finds the power couple rapping and singing. There is also a bonus track called “Salud!” streaming exclusively on Tidal. As Variety reports, the unofficial credits features production from Pharrell Williams on “Nice,” and “Apes**t,” Boi-1Da, Vory, Jahaan Sweet, Cool & Dre, Sevn Thomas, and Migos.
Along with the release of the long-awaited joint album, The Carters also dropped visuals for “Apes**t,” the second track on “Everything Is Love.” Directed by Ricky Saiz, the video was shot in May 2018 in the The Louvre in Paris. The video features scenes of Bey and Jay in the empty venue, performing in front of historic masterpieces – including the Mona Lisa. In the song, the Brooklyn rapper takes shots at the Super Bowl – with a shot of a line of athletes kneeling. Jay also takes a jab at the Grammys, rapping, “Tell the Grammys fuck that zero for eight shit / Have you ever seen the crowd goin’ apeshit?”
“Everything is Love” is now available on all streaming services.
