Beyoncé Brings Out Destiny’s Child, Solange and More During a Historic Coachella Set
After skipping Coachella last year due to her pregnancy, Beyoncé made a historic return to the stage with a mind-blowing performance to bring day two of the music festival to an end.
With many rumors swirling about Queen Bey’s performance, fans were speculating on what surprises the megastar will have in store. Before her performance, Bey took to Facebook to get festival goers ready for what’s to come.
“I am so excited to see the BeyHive tonight at Coachella,” she wrote. “We have been working hard and have a special show planned for you so please be safe and stay hydrated. We need your energy! There will be an hour intermission before my performance, so mark your spot, charge your phones, grab your drinks. Can’t wait to see y’all at 11:05pm!”
Proving all the rumors to be true, Bey did not hold back for her performance and gave viewers a show they will not forget. For nearly two-hours, Beyoncé delivered surprise after surprise and gave the crowd serious HBCU homecoming vibes by crooning a rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” On stage, a set of bleachers filled with a brass band and dancers added to the very special Coachella performance.
During her performance – Bey sang several songs from her hit album Lemonade surrounded my steppers and dancers, payed tribute to Nina Simone and Malcom X, and brought out husband Jay Z to give a taste of what’s to come on the On The Run II Tour. But it didn’t end there! Beyoncé’s Coachella quickly became a family affair after Solange joined the stage for a classic dance off to “Get Me Bodied.”
After months of rumors, viewers finally got to see the long-awaited Destiny’s Child reunion. Dressed in classic Destiny’s Child sequin camouflage, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined Beyoncé on stage and performed hits like “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name,” and “Soldier.”
As expected, fans and the Beyhive did not hesitate to respond to Beyoncé’s stunning performance.
