Mary J. Blige, Common, Andra Day and More to Perform at the 2018 Oscars

Get ready to listen to some Oscar-nominated music! The performers for the 2018 Academy Awards have been announced and it’s apparent that viewers will be in for a great show!

According to CNN, the original singers of this year’s Oscar-nominated songs will reprise their performances live at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. These performers include Mary J. Blige, Andra Day, Miguel, Natalia LaFourcade, Common, Gael García Bernal, Sufjan Stevens, and Keala Settle.

“We’re excited to have these talented artists showcase the powerful contribution music makes to filmmaking,” Show producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd said in a statement. “It’s a privilege to welcome them to the 90th Oscars stage.”

Blige is said to perform “Mighty River” from Mudbound, co-written with Raphael Saadiq and Taura Stinson. Along with the nomination for Best Original Song, the “Real Love” singer is also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film. As CNN reports, Blige is the first person to be nominated for both a performance and an original song in the same year.

Soul songstress Andra Day will hit the Oscars stage with Common to perform “Stand Up For Something” from the Reginald Hudlin directed film, Marshall. Common earned himself an Oscar back in 2014 for “Glory” from the acclaimed film, Selma. Keala Settle is set to perform “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman. Bernal, LaFourcade and Miguel will perform “Remember Me” from the Disney-Pixar film Coco, and Stevens performing “Mystery of Love” from Call me by Your Name.

The 90th annual Oscars ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air live on ABC at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. on March 4. The ceremony will also be televised in over 225 countries and territories.
