Check Out the First Trailer for ‘Atlanta’ Season 2
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for! During the 75th Golden Globes, we got a sneak peek at FX’s forthcoming season of Atlanta.
Not long after it was announced that the second season will premiere later than expected, FX gave fans a look into the highly anticipated season. Sountracked by Sonder’s “Too Fast”,” The one-minute clip is a single panning shot of stars Donald Glover, Lakieth Stanfield, Zazie Beatz, and Brian Tyree Henry in various settings. The low lit scenes show Earn (Glover), Darius (Stanfield), Paper Boi (Henry) and Van (Beetz) at a restaurant, then a strip club, and finally hanging out with a gator before walking down a sidewalk with a single spotlight.
Dubbed Atlanta Robbin’ Season, executive producer Stephen Glover explained what “Robbin Season” is during a panal at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “Robbin’ Season is a time in Atlanta right before Christmastime where a lot of crime happens, because people have to get gifts and stuff so people have more money, and people need money, so robberies go up,” he said per TV Guide. “You might get your package stolen off your front porch. While we were there our neighbor had her car stolen. It’s a tense and desperate time, so we wanted to make that that backdrop to the season and our characters are going through that same kind of desperate transition from their old lives to where they’re heading now. Robbin’ Season is a metaphor for our characters.”
Atlanta Robbin’ Season will premiere Thursday, March 1 at 10/9c on FX .
