Lakeith Stanfield Teases Atlanta Season 2 Premiere Date and Sends Fans into a Frenzy

It’s official! Season 2 or ‘Robbin Season’ of Atlanta will be coming February 2018.

Earlier this year FX announced that Atlanta will be returning for its second season in 2018- and for most fans, waiting one year would feel like a lifetime. However, on Sunday (December 10) Get Out star Lakeith Stanfield took to social media to tease the forthcoming season of the critically acclaimed FX series.

Stanfield – who stars as Darius in the show – posted a photo of the cast and writers of Atlanta in faux fraternity jackets, with a caption that had been altered several times. According to Vibe, insiders were able to confirm the February premiere date. “Don’t call it Season 2,” Stanfield wrote. “Tis ‘Robbin Season, it’ll never come,”

Since its premiere back in fall 2016, Atlanta has received critical acclaim and was basic cable’s most-watched scripted primetime comedy in the 18-49 demographic since April 2013. The series also won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series and earned Donald Glover a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series. Glover also received two Emmys for the acclaimed series; one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the episode B.A.N.
