Childish Gambino, Jay Z, SZA and More Lead the 2018 Grammy Nominations
Award season is slowly approaching and just in time to kick it off – the 2018 Grammy nominations are out!
On Tuesday (November 28), singer Andra Day announced the Big 4 categories – best new artist, record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year –during an appearance on CBS This Morning. Not long after, the Recording Academy revealed the complete list of nominees for the 60th annual Grammy awards. The nominations featured a variety of artist who are all vying for the coveted golden gramophone.
Jay-Z reigned supreme with a total eight nominations; including album of the year, song of the year, record of the year and best rap album for 4:44. Kendrick Lamar tailed behind with seven nods for record of the year, best rap performance, album of the year and more. Childish Gambino wasn’t far behind with five for his critically acclaimed album Awaken My Love!, while his hit song “Redbone” is up for record of the year.
R&B songstress SZA also nabbed several nods, including best new artist, best urban contemporary album, best R&B song, best R&B performance, and best rap/sung performance for her platinum hit “Love Galore.” 2017’s breakout star, Cardi B, also found herself on this year’s list with a nomination for her electrifying single “Bodak Yellow.”
The 60th Annual Grammy Awards will air live Sunday, January 28th on CBS from Madison Square Garden. Be sure to check out the full list of nominees below!
