The 2018 edition of the Forbes “30 Under 30” list has been revealed and some of black Hollywood’s biggest stars were honored.
The annual list features 600 prominent young stars in 20 different industries including, Art & Style, Food & Drink, Healthcare Enterprise Technology, Science, Education and more. According to Forbes, in order to select the honorees they examine “thousands of nominations, leaning on the collective wisdom of our online community, ace reporters and a panel of A-list judges.”
This year’s list is full of black Hollywood’s finest and anyone showing their melanin magic. Playboi Carti, Cardi B, Lizzo, Migos, Khalid, H.E.R., Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott made the Music list. Tori Bowie, Seattle Seahawks Kam Chancellor, Atlanta Falcons Julio Jones, Sloane Stephens and New Orleans Pelicans Anthony Davis made the bill for sports – while Yara Shahidi, Kofi Siriboe, Amandla Stenberg and Superior Donuts’ Jermaine Fowler are honored on the entertainment list. Chef and entrepreneur Ayesha Curry held it down on the food and drink list and Supermodel Jourdan Dunn made the list for Art and Style.
Outside of the world of entertainment, there are other young people who are pushing the boundaries. Some of the honorees include; Tyler Allen, who’s research led to what is known as the Cancer Exodus Hypothesis, #1000BlackGirlBooks founder, 13-year-old Marley Dais, Co-Founder of Detroit Speaks Danielle Hughes and artist Awol Erizku.
