Not long after his “The Ting Go” freestyle on BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Fire in the Booth went viral, British comedian and actor Michael Dapaah, widely known as his rapper alter ego, Big Shaq, just released a star-studded music video for his hit single “Mans Not Hot.”
In the visual, directed by Marv Brown, Roadman Shaq goes from the beaches of Miami to the streets of Amsterdam all while sporting a large parka, despite the obvious warm weather. At one point, Dapaah finds himself on the red carpet for the 2017 BET Hip-Hop awards, where he links up with stars like Jim Jones, Lil Yatchy, Big Tigger, Waka Flocka Flame, and DJ Khaled – who delivers his moniker about reaching goal despite what the haters say. Since its release on Wednesday (October 25), the video has garnered over 4.8 million views.
Dapaah first found fame on social media for his comedic online skits, which he adapted into a mockumentary series on YouTube titled “Somewhere in London” also known as #SWIL. The series followed the lives of different people and their unique journeys to success.
