50 Cent and O’Shea Jackson Jr. to Star in New Action Film ‘Den of Thieves’
It looks like 50 Cent and O’Shea Jackson Jr. will be returning to the big screen in the forthcoming action/thriller Den of Thieves.
From first-time director Christian Gudegast, the film follows the intersecting and personally connected lives of an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff’s Department and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew as the group plans a seemingly impossible heist of the Federal Reserve Bank of downtown Los Angeles – as Deadline reports. 50 Cent stars as a notorious leader of the infamous robbers, which includes The Wire star Pablo Schreiber and Jackson Jr. Gerard Butler also stars in the film as police officer Nick Flanagan, who is trying his best to shut down the robber’s plan.
With Gudegast serving as director, based on a story created with Paul Scheuring (Prison Break), Den of Thieves will be produced by Gudegast and Tucker Tooley (Don Jon), who spent over 10 years developing the project together, alongside Gerard Butler, Mark Canton (Power), D. Scott Lumpkin (The Foreigner), and Alan Siegel (London Has Fallen). According to Deadline, Lumpkin and Glenn D. Feig (The Nice Guys) are set to serve as executive producers.
50 Cent took to Instagram to tease the trailer for the forthcoming film, “DEN OF THIEVES, Jan 19 in theaters everywhere. This sh*t is lit for real,” the Queens native wrote.
The trailer for the upcoming action film is filled with shootouts, car chases, and of course, money as Kendrick Lamar’s “m.A.A.d city” soundtracks the action. Den of Thieves premieres in theaters January 19th, 2018.
