It looks like Gucci Mane is the newest addition to the Reebok Classics family! On the heels of the release of his latest album, Mr. Davis, Reebok Classic has announced Gucci Mane will be the new face of its latest campaign.
The new campaign, featuring the Atlanta rapper, will support the latest edition of Reebok’s iconic Workout Plus sneaker, the Workout Plus EG. Originally released back in 1986, the fitness sneaker has had various resurgences in recent years –becoming a fashion staple through several style drops and collaborations – as Hot New Hip Hop reports.
Gucci will be joining the likes of other Reebok Classic collaborators, including Future, Teyana Taylor, Rae Sremmurd, and Jasmine Sanders.
“We are excited to welcome Gucci Mane to the Reebok family,” General Manager of Reebok Classic, Todd Krinsky said in a statement. “Gucci Mane has a deep heritage in music and lifestyle and natural ties to the Workout. We look forward to working together on the upcoming campaign.”
The “Jumped Out the Whip” rapper also shared his excitement about the new partnership:
“It’s really exciting to be part of the Reebok fam and get the opportunity to star in my own campaign. I’ve been a big fan of Reebok since day one, and the Workout is one of my favorite styles because of its look and long heritage, especially in Atlanta and the South. It’s a style that’s stood the test of time and I’m excited to put my own take on it through this campaign.”
According to HNHH, The Workout Plus EG will launch in five Men’s colorways, including black/white, smokey indigo/white, army green/white, burnt amber/white, and skull grey/white. The shoes come in a premium nubuck suede, accompanied with its signature gum bottom. The Workout Plus EG will be available at Reebok.com for $85.
