Are you ready to Meet the Flockas? Yes, you heard that right, Waka Flocka and his longtime love Tammy Rivera landed their own spin-off show on VH1 called Meet the Flockas. Produced by the Love and Hip Hop franchise creator, Mona Scott-Young, Meet the Flockas seems to be a reality show that’ll capture the married couple’s everyday life with their daughter, Charlie.
“And it ain’t scripted either,” Waka said to Bossip. “It’s not a scripted show. This isn’t something from the network. We control all this. It’s about time that the people see some real reality s**t. Thank God for Mona Scott-Young. She definitely deserves some credit. Even to get the opportunity to get on the platform. But it’s up to you how to you to be represented to the world.”
The couple took to social media to tease fans about the forthcoming show before the official announcement. “#MEETTHEFLOCKAS a regular day in my [house] coming soon…,” Rivera captioned the post of the comical animation.
The news of the spinoff series comes after Waka Flocka had an interesting interview on Sway in the Morning where he stated that he did not identify as African-American due to his grandmother’s comment on their Native-American background.
“I’m not African-American at all,” he said. “My folks is not from Africa. A lot of people in this room’s folks ain’t from Africa. Might be a couple, but people just don’t understand. I asked my grandma, ‘Yo grandma, what’s your background?’ She said ‘Red foot and black tail Indian.’ I said, ‘What?’ She said, ‘Yeah.’ My mother and my father, we 100% Indians.’ I asked my other grandmother, and we got Cherokee in us, and European and Italian. A little Dominican.”
After speaking about slavery, he later said that he identifies as “Other” saying, “I’m uneducated. I’m confused. But I’m damn sure not Black. You’re not gonna call me Black.”
Details on Meet the Flockas are developing.
