The Weeknd and Marvel are teaming up to bring us the ultimate Starboy experience to the public. The XO crooner has finally announced the arrival of his new comic book “Starboy.”
After teasing the release on social media, on Saturday (October 7) the Weeknd unveiled the cover of the forthcoming comic. “The Weeknd and Marvel presents: STARBOY… comic book coming soon. I’ll be signing autographs in the Marvel Booth @2:30 #NYCC,” he captioned the photo of his alter ego.
During the event, the “Reminder” singer met fans, signed autographs, and posed for pictures. In one photo, the Toronto native was surrounded by a large groups of fans as he was signing autographs. “Today was great,” he wrote.

Judging by the cover, it seems like the comic will be released in 2018. However, the idea behind the stellar character has been on the singer’s mind for quite some time. Back in November 2016, The Weeknd opened up about his hit album and spoke about possibly doing a comic book during an interview with DJ/Producer Zane Lowe. “Starboy is the next chapter in this chronicle, this saga,” he said. “I guess this is the fourth chapter. He’s a character that we created. It’s so funny, we want to create a comic out of him as well […] He’s a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album. He’s definitely made his appearance in different records in the past as well. He’s a more braggadocious character that we all have inside of us.”
The announcement of the new comic book comes after The Weeknd released a remix to R.Kelly’s classic “Down Low” and appeared on Gucci Mane’s new single “Curve.” Along with new music, The Weeknd recently released his second collection with H&M. The 18-piece capsule collection named “Selected by The Weeknd” featured hoodies embellished with the famous XO logo, t-shirts, embroidered varsity jackets, and a parka.
