Following the release of her summer single “Love a Loser” featuring G-Eazy, Cassie is cementing her return to music with the premiere of her self-titled short film.
Rather than going down the traditional route and creating a music video for her new single, the model turned singer decided to create the single into a 10 minute short film that serves as a background story for the single. The short film also featured a snippet of Cassie’s new song “Don’t Play It Safe” that plays during the credits. Directed by Harrison Boyce, Cassie stars alongside male lead Cristoforo Donadi (A.K.A Gazi Ghost) as they go through life as a couple and showcases the high and lows that come with being in a relationship – as Complex reports. “He’s like an aggravating high,” she says. “Like the high that you want to go away, but that you never want to go away. It creeps up on you; has you do some crazy sh** that you would never do… and then it leaves you in the middle of the night.”

Cassie celebrated the premiere in L.A. alongside plenty of friends and family, costar Cristoforo Donadi, song collaborator G-Eazy, and long-time boo Diddy, who served as executive producer for the new project. “Last night celebrating with my 3 favorite people,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “I love you Mommy, Daddy & Roddy #LoveALoser short film out now!”
