Mike Tyson Donates $10,000 to GoFundMe Page for Las Vegas Shooting Victims

In the wake of the horrific mass shooting that took place in Las Vegas, many celebrities are doing what they can to help the victims affected by the act that claimed the lives of 59 people and left over 500 injured. Most recently, former professional boxer Mike Tyson donated $10,000 to a GoFundMe page to aid the victims.

According to TMZ, a GoFundMe page has launched by Clark County Commission Chair, Steve Sisolak, to “provide relief and finical support” to the victims and families of the shooting that took place at Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival, and is almost at its $3.5 million goal. According to the page, Sisolak spend the night with Sheriff Lombardo Clark County’s only level-one trauma center. Along with Tyson, the Oakland Raiders donated $50,000 to the fund, while stars, including pop group The Chainsmokers, Today show co-host Hoda Kobt, country band Florida Georgia Line, and Kid Rock also donated money to the fund.

Sunday night (October 1), 64-year old Nevada man, Stephen Paddock, fired into a crowd of concertgoers from his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Police recovered more than 20 weapons, including a handgun and multiple long-range rifles –all believed to be purchased legally. More than 50 people were confirmed dead and 527 people are still recovering from injuries –ranging from gunshot wounds to stampede injuries.

According to CNN, no one knows why Paddock would commit such an act that is now being called the deadliest mass shooting in American history –but police found evidence that proved he could have been planning something worse. It is reported that in Paddock’s car, police found several pounds of ammonium nitrate, a material used to make explosives, along with 19 firearms, explosives, and several thousand rounds of ammunition recovered from his home in Mesquite, Nevada.
