JAY-Z, Cardi B, Chris Brown, & More to Perform at Third Annual TIDAL X: BROOKLYN Concert

After some speculation that JAY-Z and Beyoncé would be headlining a Brooklyn concert to benefit Hurricane relief, and subsequently dispelling those rumors, news of the real show has come to light. Last week, TIDAL announced that their third annual TIDAL X: BROOKLYN benefit concert would be happening on October 17, at the Barclays Center. And this week, TIDAL announced the show’s lineup and it’s lit!

TIDAL X: BROOKLYN will be hosted by “The Voice of New York” herself, radio personality Angie Martinez. The actual concert is particularly special this year because of where the proceeds will go. Funds raised by the TIDAL X show will be donated to those affected by the recent hurricane disasters that affected the nation.

Additionally, proceeds will go to island nations affected by Hurricane Irma and Maria, as well as the earthquakes that have happened in Mexico. More specifically, proceeds will go Miami Community Foundation, Greater Houston Community Foundation, Global Giving, and more.

TIDAL recently announced what the lineup for this year’s event would look like. Among the artists performing are JAY-Z, Chris Brown, Cardi B, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Lopez, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Daddy Yankee, Vic Mensa, Yo Gotti, A$AP Ferg, Willow Smith, Mack Wilds, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Princess Nokia, Chloe x Halle, and more. In addition to featuring Angie Martinez as host, Hamilton’s Lin Manuel-Miranda and Rosie Perez are also slated to make guest appearances.

The 4:44 artist is no stranger to charitable efforts and constantly finds ways to give back to those in need. TIDAL X is yet another way to fulfill that purpose. In 2008, the Brooklyn rapper received a special humanitarian award from the United Nations. “If you bring awareness to young people, they’re going to see and want to be involved,” he said. “I’m not a politician; I’m just a regular person with a heart. If you see a problem like that and do nothing about it, there’s something wrong with you.”

Tickets for the event are now available. Find more info about TIDAL X: BROOKLYN, the full lineup, and ticket prices here.
