Ayesha Curry is adding some more Black Girl Magic to the makeup aisle and toting another accolade to her growing resume! The all-star mother of two, New York Times Bestselling cookbook author, and chef/host of Ayesha’s Home Kitchen just scored a new gig as the new face of CoverGirl.
On Wednesday (September 20), the 28-year old wife and mom took to Instagram to announce the exciting new partnership. “My first makeup memory was running down the beauty aisles with my mom getting to pick my very own lipstick. It was a COVERGIRL pink glittery lipstick that made me feel so good about myself – even though it probably wasn’t my shade. Well, I am so excited to share that now I get to take my baby girls down those same aisles, and they get to see their mama as a #COVERGIRL! I am so honored and thrilled to join the iconic women of the #COVERGIRL family and be a part of a brand that empowers women to embrace their originality.”
“My philosophy is all about seeking joy and creating balance in life,” Curry shared in a press release per E!.“I’ve shared a lot about how I do this with food, family and faith, and now, through my partnership with Covergirl, I want to share how makeup helps create those moments of happiness, confidence and self-expression.”
The bright-eyed beauty will kick off her collaboration with the cosmetic company with a new product: the Peacock Flare Mascara. Set to hit shelves November 2017, the new product promises a glamorous yet dramatic look with just a few coats, as E! reports. Curry will be joining the likes of other CoverGirl ambassadors of color including Janelle Monáe, Queen Latifah, Zendaya, and Insecure creator Issa Rae.
