It looks like the Black-ish spinoff Grown-ish will be growing by two! It has been announced that the R&B duo Chloe x Halle will be bringing an extra dose of black girl magic to the forthcoming Freeform comedy series.
According to Deadline, Chloe x Halle, who are signed to Beyoncé’s label Parkwood Entertainment and recently served as one of the opening acts for the European leg of The Formation World Tour, will play twin sisters Sky and Jazz – who are on the track team at Southern California University. Along with the “Drop” singers – the spinoff has added Francia Raisa (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), who will play Ana, an outspoken conservative freshman at the college. Jordan Buhat (Summer of ’84) will also join the growing cast as Vivek, a first generation Indian-American freshman at Zoey’s college with an endearing lack of self-awareness.

From Black-ish executive producer Kenya Barris, Grown-ish is a contemporary take on current issues facing both students and administrators in the world of higher education – as reported by Deadline. Yara Shahidi will reprise her role as Zoey, the stylish and socially active teen, who leaves the nest but soon realizes not everything goes the way she plans. Chloe x Halle will join the previously announced stars, Chris Parnell (Archer, 21 Jump Street), Emily Arlook (Just Add Water), Trevor Jackson (American Crime, Burning Sands), and Deon Cole starring as everyone’s favorite Black-ish character, Charlie.
