Master P Gifts Scholarships to 10 New Orleans Inner City Kids

No Limit founder and CEO Master P hosted his annual charity basketball game in Louisiana at Xavier University through his foundation Team Hope. It was a night to remember as the rapper welcomed and facilitated healthy competition among the NOLA community, fun times, and, as in turns out, nearly half a dozen scholarships to ten lucky inner city kids.

Master P and Team Hope gave back to the youth by donating all proceeds received from the NOLA game. Those donations went to the various scholarships to ten different kids. The total amount raised wasn’t specified, but we’re sure that the students seeking to further their education were very grateful and humbled by being surprise scholarship recipients of that night.

In addition to the impromptu scholarship fund, the NOLA game boasted some impressive musical acts. Among the acts were R&B all-girl group June’s Diary as well as the “Make ‘Em Say Uhh” rapper’s daughter, Cymphonique. June’s Diary did the honors of performing the National Anthem, while Cymphonique rocked the mic alongside Southern Band for the halftime show. Master P’s son and protégé Romeo Miller was also in attendance that night.

In a statement issued via Instagram, Master P mentioned that the basketball game also encompassed a dunk competition, a 3-point contest, and various secondary events that other attendees at the game could partake and join in. Team NOLA eventually won the championship and an MVP trophy was presented and dedicated to a 7-year-old named Dequante Hobbs Jr. by Romeo.

“This day was all about peace, helping and preparing the next generation. It was a family fun entertaining event filled with excitement, peace and hope,” the statement reads.
