Michael Jackson Halloween Special Heading to CBS This Halloween

Michael Jackson’s estate and CBS are teaming up to bring Michael Jackson’s Halloween to the small screen. The new hour-long animated adventure will feature music from the King of Pop’s extensive discography, along with a star-studded voice cast.

The special follows two millennials Vincent and Victoria who accidentally meet on Halloween night and find themselves, with Ichabod the dog, at a mysterious hotel called This Place Hotel on 777 Jackson Street. Upon entering, Vincent and Victoria go on an adventure filled with fun and, of course, dancing – with a dance finale with none other than Michael Jackson. Created and produced by Optimum Productions, the special will feature voices from stars, including Alan Cumming (X-Men 2), Christine Baranski (Mama Mia!), Lucy Liu (Elementary), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Lucas Till (X-Men: Apocalypse), and Kiersey Clemons (Dope). The King of Pop’s estate is slated to serve as executive producers for the special.

Michael Jackson’s estate has released a number of projects since his untimely death in 2009, most notably the film This Is It – which was released shortly after his death and showed Jackson’s final days preparing for a series of sold-out concerts. The estate also released various albums, including 2014’s Xscape, 2010’s Michael, and a 25th anniversary re-release of his album, Bad. More recently, the estate has also released Michael Jackson: Live At Wembley July 15, 1988 in 2012.

Not too long ago, Michael Jackson’s estate claimed it had “numerous projects in development, all of which respect, honor and celebrate Michael’s life and legacy along with his extraordinary artistry that touched fans throughout the world.” His estate said in a statement per Billboard, “When the executors are ready to announce them, they will. As Michael said countless times about his own work, the quality goes in before the name goes on.”
