T.I. to Star in Fox’s Police Drama “Atlanta’s Most Wanted”

Tip “T.I.” Harris is no stranger to starring in films and television shows. Now the rapper/producer turned actor is teaming up with Jerry Bruckheimer to star in Fox’s new drama series Atlanta’s Most Wanted.

According to Variety, the one-hour police drama will focus on Marcus Armstrong (Harris), who is the son of a notorious Atlanta criminal kingpin. He is recruited to be a part of a new vice squad that tackles the growing criminal elements in his hometown. However, his involvement will jeopardize his secret and threatens to turn his world upside down. The self-proclaimed King of the South will serve as executive producer with Jerry Bruckheimer (C.S.I, The Amazing Race, and Lucifer) alongside Jonathan Litt, Brian Sher, KristieAnne Reed, and Rob Hardy.

“I am honored to partner with Fox and Bruckheimer on what is truly a passion project for me,” Harris said in a statement. “It’s going to be amazing to see my city represented in this fashion.”

As we know, T.I knows a thing or two about being on camera – with this being his latest non-music project. As Variety reports, T.I will begin production on The Trap, a comedy starring himself alongside comedian Mike Epps. Harris was also seen in various films in the past, including Sleepless, Get Hard, Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping, and Ant-Man. In 2018, we should be expecting to see Rubber-band Man return as Dave for Marvel’s Ant-Man 2. For television, Tip and comedian Kevin Hart sold the half-hour comedy show The Studio to Showtime. Being that T.I’s hit family reality series T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle just came to an end after airing its final season and 100th episode – we could start to see more of the Atlanta native in film.

With Fox still in the early stages of development, it is being reported that Atlanta’s Most Wanted could hit small screens during its pilot season in 2018.
