Chris Brown has seen a turnaround in the drama surrounding his life lately. Although he has made headlines for past relationships and miscellaneous fights, Brown has also racked up a few wins in recent months. The 28-year-old singer just wrapped up his nationwide tour with French Montana and Fabolous, has been featured on some fire tracks, had his own fire tracks (“Privacy,” “Party”), and has been working on his upcoming highly anticipated album. And that relationship drama we previously mentioned, the court threw out the restraining order due to his ex Karrueche Tran’s failure to appear in court.
On Tuesday (June 6), he added yet another congratulatory feat to his catalog of wins when he debuted Welcome to My Life. The first screening of his autobiographical documentary was hosted by him and in attendance was his mother Joyce Hawkins, his daughter Royalty, rapper Kap G, P. Diddy and sons, singer Jhené Aiko, and more.
Directed by Andrew Sandler, the documentary covers Brown’s life and the ups and downs he has experienced since getting to know fame, including his highly publicized domestic altercation and falling out with pop icon Rihanna. The tagline reads: “His Triumphs. His Struggles. His Journey.” Some celebs who know Brown well even make appearances in the film to offer commentary for the troubled artist. Such cameos include Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled, Jamie Foxx, Terrence J, Tyga, Mary J. Blige, Mike Tyson, and Usher.
Brown spoke on the red carpet about the apple of his eye, daughter Royalty. “She is my life. She’s a part of my life in all aspects. I thought music was at first but she’s number one, and then the music. Bringing her here, I wanted to show her that daddy is cool, I guess.”
The Welcome to My Life documentary is out in theaters now. Check out the trailer for the flick below.
