Kerry Washington to Produce and Star in Workplace Comedy ’24-7′

Now that we all know Kerry Washington’s hit show Scandal is coming to an end after seven seasons, it has been confirmed that Kerry Washington is not wasting time landing another potential hit show with a stellar team. Washington is set to produce a workplace comedy along with Eva Longoria. The duo are aiming to star in a comedy that has been set up by Universal called 24-7.

With the script penned by Sarah Rothschild, writer on Awesomeness TV’s Love, Unscripted with credits on Universals comedy The Dog Walker and The Gauntlet, Washington will produce under her Simpson Street banner. Longoria will be producing through UnbeliEVAble Entertainment banner with Ben Spector – The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Simpson Street is also responsible for developing films such as Sony’s TriStar The Perfect Mother, Warner Bros. The Mothers, as well as the HBO film Confirmation. The Emmy-nominated actress, who starred as Olivia Pope on ABC’s Scandal, is also set to star in the voice cast for Disney’s Cars 3.

Known for her role on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, Longoria hasn’t stopped landing hits after the end of the show’s eight-season run. Longoria has been confirmed to star in Jamie Foxx’s All-Star Weekend and Type-A. Longoria has also made appearances in hit shows like Empire, Maya & Marty, and Devious Maids.

Although there is no word on the premiere of 24-7, it’s exciting to see two women of color team up to produce and star in a comedy film. We’re definitely ready for 24-7… are you?
