Diddy’s $820 Million Net Worth Makes Him the Richest Man in Hip Hop

Sheesh! Diddy marks his seventh year topping Forbes’ list as Hip Hop’s Wealthiest Artist in 2017. The financial news outlet estimates his net worth to be a whopping $820 million, only $200 million shy of becoming a billionaire!

Per Forbes, Diddy formally known as Sean Combs, rakes in most of his millions in a lucrative Cîroc vodka deal with Diageo, DeLeon tequila, Aquahydrate water brand, and of course his stakes in the TV network REVOLT. Since 2011, Diddy has been topping the list when his estimated net worth totaled to $500 million. Since then, the “I Need a Girl” rapper has been featured on the Forbes list of The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities, placing at number 22 with $62 million in annual earnings, as reported by E! News.

Jay Z came in second on the list, thanks to a $200 million investment from Sprint for his streaming service, TIDAL, which is said to be valued at $600 million. According to Forbes, his fortune has jumped 30% in the past year since the big investment – that’s more than 10 times what he paid for the company back in 2015!

Coming in third is Dr. Dre with an estimated $740 million net worth. Forbes noted how the “Straight Outta Compton” rapper makes his millions from his deal with Apple, who bought Beats for $3 billion in 2014. His cut provided him the largest single-year payday ever recorded by a single musician.

Birdman placed fourth with $110 million. He earned most of his riches from his record label Cash Money Records, which churned out music’s biggest stars, namely Lil’ Wayne and Nicki Minaj. Although it has been rumored that most of the money-making artists have left the label – Cash Money Records is said to be worth an estimated $300 million.

Drake closed out the list in fifth place with an estimated $90 million. As stated in Forbes, the Toronto native’s album Views became the first album to top 1 billion spins on Apple Music, which aided his international tour that grossed about $1 million per night! He also has deals with Nike, Sprite, and Apple. This plus his OVO merch and other business ventures outside of the music realm surely keeps the dough rolling in.
