The Trinidadian-born, Jamaica Queens-bred rapper Nicki Minaj took being a boss to yet another level over the weekend when she took to Twitter to give unsuspecting fans access to one of life’s most important gifts: education. On Saturday night (May 6), the 34-year-old “Super Bass” rapper made her emphasis on staying in school more fully realized when she agreed to pay off dozens of fans education expenses.
There was one stipulation, however. People requesting her charitable donations must have straight A’s and/or an impressive GPA and show proof.
The surprising moment of beauty happened as the star was gearing up for a Billboard Music Award appearance and was answering questions from fans about a lip synching contest for her “Regret in Your Tears” single. The winner from the contest would be able to accompany her at the BMAs (May 21). Fans tweeted her questions and one inquiring mind boldly asked that Minaj pay for his tuition instead of the flight she was referring to in regard to the contest.
Minaj tweeted him back, “Show me straight A’s that I can verify w/ur school and I’ll pay it. Who wants to join THAT contest?!?! Dead serious. Shld I set it up?”

After that, fans in #TheKingdom popped up with their requests for her to pay their education expenses as well. One request of $1,000 for three classes prompted a reply from Minaj with her tweet, “That’s it? I’ll send it tmrw. Dm me ur bank info babe. Next!”

Some fans/students requested that she tackle a loan payment for them, others wanted her to pay the remaining balance on their tuition for classes next semester. The amounts ranged from $500 to $2,000, with Minaj agreeing quite easily and saying yes to at least 20-30 people before ending her charitable spree with a promise to return in another “month or 2”.

The “No Frauds” emcee ended the moment with the tweet, “Ok u guys. It’s been fun. Let me make those payments tmrw then see if I have any month left.”
Minaj is no stranger to being a proponent of education. After meeting two of her pint-sized biggest fans on an episode of Ellen years ago after their “Super Bass” rap went viral, the young girl Sophia Grace mentioned wanting to pursue music like Minaj. Minaj encouraged the little girls to stay in school.
Minaj was definitely able to show her legions of fans and followers that doing well in school pays off, especially when you are grinding in the pursuit of your education.
