J. Cole’s second HBO special J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film, is set to premiere on HBO April 15th. The special is said to be a multi-narrative show combines music performances along with intimate interviews documented through J. Cole’s lens.
According to HBO, J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film, showcases songs from his fourth album, as well as footage that contains heartfelt confessions, concerns, and struggles of people in the south. During the film, J.Cole travels through different cities gathering interviews that reveal the challenges low-income residents endure while trying to maintain, as well as the frustrations felons that are not allowed to vote face. The Grammy-nominated artist captures these stories in Atlanta, Ferguson, Baton Rouge, his hometown of Fayetteville, NC, and his father’s birthplace of Jonesboro, AR.
Cole dropped 4 Your Eyez Only back in December 2016. The critically acclaimed album debuted at number 1, selling 492,000 units during its first week. Recently, 4 Your Eyez Only reached platinum status, which is the rapper’s 4th album to reach the highly-coveted RIAA certification, as reported by Billboard.
J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film, is set to be executive produced by Jermaine Cole (J. Cole), Ibrahim Hamad, and Adam Roy Rodney. Additionally, J. Cole will serve as co-director, alongside Scott Lazer.
