YAY! Target’s new lingerie collection just made it easier to find the perfect nude. The discount retailer announced plans to add four new color choices that counteracts brands that only offer one universal option as their “nude”.
“At Target, we know that women come in all shapes, sizes and ethnicities and our assortment needs to reflect their outfitting needs,” Michelle Wlazlo, senior vice president of apparel and accessories at Target said in a statement. “As part of our continued commitment to inclusivity, our team did extensive research to expand our intimate offerings so guests can find the perfect shade of nude to match their skin tone.”
According to Glamour, the mass retailer is not the first to expand its color options. Brands including Naja and Cosabella have been selling options in different skin tones – however, Target’s collection seems to be the cheapest option, with underwear starting at $5 and bras at $10. The new shades include cocoa, caramel, honey beige, and mochaccino (you can check them out here). Along with the expansion of lingerie and hosiery, Target plans to release additional shades of nude this fall for shoes.
This announcement comes after Target’s latest swimsuit campaign, which featured a variety of women who haven’t been digitally retouched, as reported by Glamour. Unlike its competitors, Target is embracing the fact that women comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors.
