Oscar winning film, Moonlight, will stream exclusively stream on Amazon Prime under an extension with the production company behind this year’s hit film, A24.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Moonlight is already available to rent or purchase on Amazon Video. However, Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to stream the film with no additional cost. Other A24 films including 20th Century Women, The Lovers, Manchester, American Honey, Free Fire and It Comes at Night will be available later this year. Prime users are already able to access other A24 titles including 2016 Oscar winning films like Room, The Witch, Dark Places and Ex Machina.
“We are thrilled to be the exclusive subscription streaming service to offer customers Academy Award winner Moonlight,” Jason Ropell, VP, Worldwide Head of Motion Pictures for Amazon Studios said in a statement. “We already have an incredible catalog of films from A24 like Room and Ex Machina that Prime members love to watch and we are happy to extend our relationship to continue to bring Prime members these award winning, prestige films.”
Moonlight took home three Oscars at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. The groundbreaking film won Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali performance as Juan and Best Picture.
