Bruno Mars certainly channeled Prince during his funky tribute at the 2107 Grammys!
Teaming up with The Time, Bruno Mars honored the late music icon with an electrifying performance. Mars took the stage to perform “Let’s Go Crazy” dressed in Prince’s signature purple sequined jacket, classic ruffled shirt and white guitar. As the famous Prince symbol glowed in the background, Mars commanded the stage with powerful vocals and funky guitar solos.
According to Rolling Stone the tribute to Prince, who passed April 2016, was announced earlier this week. Ken Ehrlich, Executive Producer of the Grammys, explained in a statement;
“While the primary focus of the Grammy Awards is to celebrate and honor the year’s best in music, we consider it our responsibility to tell music’s broader story by honoring its legends lost,” He added “While it’s nearly impossible to convey the full depth of an artist’s cultural impact in a single performance, it’s that very challenge that has led us to some of our most memorable Grammy moments.”
