The 33rd annual United Negro College Fund Atlanta Mayor’s Masked Ball was another huge success- stars came out looking fresh and fab and some of Atlanta’s own even put their money where their mouths are and made massive donations to the organization.
This year’s fundraising gala was held on Saturday December 17 as an effort to focus on “raising awareness of the need and benefits of a college education, the students UNCF serves and the contributions of historically black colleges and universities,” according to the UNCF‘s official site. The event was another huge success- not only did it sell out of tickets, but some of the stars that attended made some pretty sizeable donations to the non-profit. The ball ended up bringing in $1 million by the end of the night.
Usher, Jeezy, Future, Tyrese and Ludacris all attended the gala and each made $25,000 donations to UNCF. The stars all matched one another’s donations until the total reached well over $100,000 collectively. “…last night in conjunction with UNICEF I proudly jumped out there and donated 25,000 and my brother Usher didn’t even blink and marched it,” shared Tyrese on Instagram. “25,000 then my guy @jeezy jumped out there 25,000 and everyone else in the room felt like that had to step it up!!!! Then I got a text message from my brother @ludacris who jumped out there and matched us at 25,000 it was just amazing and MILLIONS OF DOLLARS was raised and we’re going to put our angles through college.”
Not only were the guys in a giving mood, they also cleaned up pretty well too! Check out some photos from the evening below and see how many famous faces you can spot.
