Following months of speculation, Gucci Mane has finally confirmed that he and Drake are collaborating on a new project.
Rumors began swirling about a joint project with the rappers back in July after the two released their single “Back On Road.” Zaytoven further ignited rumors when he dropped hints about a bigger collaboration not long after the song’s release.
“We was shooting a video [at] Gucci’s home, and Drake just showed up. I was like, ‘Damn, Drake here,’” Zaytoven told HotNewHipHop.com. “They got to talking, Gucci and Drake started talking, and Gucci [was] like, ‘Hey man, we oughta do a tape together,’ and Drake was like, ‘Bet, we oughta do it.’”
Gucci finally confirmed the project yesterday (Dec. 14) during an interview with Power 106. He told the radio station that the project, reportedly titled The 6ers, is a definite go however it is still in the early stages and no timeline has been set. “I can’t even lie. I’m not even thinking about The 6ers. I’m thinking about East Atlanta Santa and I’m pretty sure he’s thinking about More Life,” he said.
While it looks like we’ll have to wait until 2017 for The 6ers, we will get to hear the the “6 God” and Gucci collaborate one more time in 2016. DJ Khaled is set to drop their latest collaboration, “Both,” from East Atlanta Santa on his We The Best radio show.
Gucci Mane has wasted no time getting back into the hip-hop game following his release from prison this past June- he even recently asked his longtime girlfriend to marry him– and he doesn’t show any signs of stopping anytime soon.
