Jay Z to Headline Concert for Hillary Clinton

Jay Z has officially added his name to the list of celebrities who are publicly supporting Hillary Clinton.

The rapper will headline a concert in support of Hillary Clinton in Cleveland ahead of the election next month, according to a Clinton aide. The event is expected to draw thousands of spectators and is part of a concert series aimed at motivating young people to get out and vote.

Jay’s particular event is aimed specifically at young black voters, a demographic that has been reluctant to pledge their support for Hillary due to controversial comments she made in the 90’s about young black men, calling them “super-predators” and indicating that she thought all young black males were violent criminals.

“Jay Z will be joined at the concert by special guests to encourage unity and urge Ohioans to support Clinton by voting early or on Election Day,” the Clinton camp said in a statement, according to Buzzfeed.

While Jay has been reluctant to back Hillary, his wife Beyonce showed support for Clinton in the past when she attended a Clinton fundraiser in New York City in 2015.

While this will be his first time performing at a Hillary rally, he teamed up with Bruce Springsteen four years ago for a Columbus concert for President Barack Obama one night before Election Day.

Clinton has received an outpouring of support from the hip-hop community while a number of rappers including Rick Ross, YG and G-Eazy have been vocal about their disdain for republican nominee Donald Trump.

The concert will be held on November 4th and tickets will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.
