Kanye West stunned everyone when he revealed the floating stage design for his 29-city Saint Pablo Tour and apparently it didn’t take long for someone else to hop on the innovative idea.
During the Edmonton stop of his tour Saturday night, the 39-year-old rapper abruptly stopped his set to remind the crowd that the floating stage they were standing under was a Kanye West original. “This the original,” he said to the crowd. “Accept no imitations. You with the rap God right now. N****s be copying my s***, bro. Stealing our s***, stealing our stages. Copying our s*** one to one.”
While Kanye’s comments were clearly aimed at someone, it is unclear who that may be. Many are speculating they were aimed at Drake while others think it may have been a warning for other artists.
West has been on tour in support of his latest studio album, The Life Of Pablo, since August. While things on the tour have been running smooth for the most part, Kanye did have to cut his set at The Meadows Festival short after getting news that his wife, Kim Kardashian, had been robbed and held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room.
After a short break and making sure his family was okay, Kanye was back on the road and nearing the end of the tour. The Saint Pablo Tour ends at the Palace at Auburn Hills in Detroit.
