It’s officially Yeezy season in the 6!
Yeezus himself has finally confirmed the long rumored collaboration between him and Drake. In an interview with Vogue, West, 39, spoke about the beginning stages of the project and assured fans that they should be expecting big things soon. “We’re just working on music, working on a bunch of music together, just having fun going into the studio,” he explained. “We’re working on an album, so there’s some exciting things coming up soon.”
Drake ignited rumors of a joint album at his annual OVO Festival in Toronto last month and proceeded to add fuel to that same fire when he put up a Billboard in Los Angeles. The large green sign reads, “Calabasas is the new Abu Dhabi,” and includes the logos of West’s label G.O.O.D. Music and Drake’s OVO Sound at the bottom.
With both artists sitting on top of the rap game with their own chart topping albums and sold out tours, the timing for a collab album couldn’t be more perfect.
While he didn’t give a release date, the confirmation that Good Music and OVO Sound are finally coming together is enough to keep us going…for now.
