Comedian Leslie Jones just can’t seem to catch a break. 2016 was supposed to be a fantastic year for the star, and it still has been so far, but with her successes have come an unexpected cloud of online bullying that continues to follow her.
After just having come back from taking a Twitter break due to some intense online bullying , the star has now had her personal website shut down thanks to more online hate. Jones’ personal site was hacked and personal documents, including her drivers license and passport, as well as private photos were posted to the page.
The Department of Homeland Security is currently investigating the attach telling Variety, “ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New York does currently have an open investigation,” said a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security. “As a matter of agency policy, we are unable to disclose any information related to an active investigation.”
Ghostbusters helmer Paul Feig has responded to the attack, calling the culprits ” just sad.”
What's happening to @Lesdoggg is an absolute outrage. Alt right, haters, trolls, "comedians," whoever the fuck you all are, you're just sad.

This @Lesdoggg attack is troubling. The rampant racism percolating in society right now is shameful and sad. She made a movie, that's it!

Karma always finds a way to right a wrong. Don't hate someone b/c of their ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or gender. #KarmaWins

Find other reasons to hate them like they talk too much, know everything, and are way too attractive!

I truly don't know why people are so hateful towards @Lesdoggg. Why? She's talented and wonderful. Why are people so pressed to be awful?
