Ten-Year-Old California Girl Encourages People to Pay it Forward

Becuz I CareA 10-year-old West Sacramento girl is looking to make a change in the world, and she’s doing it one bracelet at a time.

Leah Nelson began to take notice of the social issues plaguing the nation and she decided to take it upon herself to help make the world a better place. “I just want the world to be a better place,” Nelson told local Sacramento station KTXL. “I mean there’s many issues and people are mad about the issues, and if you’re mad about the issues, why don’t you take action to try and change them?” Leah did just that.

The fifth grader created “Becuz I Care bracelets” to reward people for being kind. Nelson encourages others to perform a random act of kindness for someone else. Once the act is complete, Nelson personally awards the lucky recipient a bracelet and instructs them to pass the bracelet on at their next opportunity for a similar random act of kindness.

Nelson also encourages people to share the story with her on Twitter by tagging @BecuzICare11 or using the hashtag #BecuzICare11.
