Rapper Troy Ave Charged After T.I. Concert Shooting


Troy Ave, 30, whose real name is Roland Collins, was arrested on Thursday after NYPD officials released video footage that clearly shows Collins firing at least one shot inside the venue.

The rapper has been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to a tweet by the NYPD.

NYPD officials say Collins shot himself in the leg during a struggle at the club. A 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to an area Hospital to recover and a 26-year-old woman was shot in the leg and is in stable condition. Ronald McPhatter, 33, was shot in the stomach. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

T.I. addressed the incident via Twitter on Thursday. “Rest In Peace Bro. God bless,” he tweeted on along with a message that read: “My heart is heavy today. Our music is intended to save lives, like it has mine and many others. My heartfelt condolences to the family that suffered the loss & my prayers are with all those injured. Respectfully, Tip.”
