Tamar Braxton shocked fans when she confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning as co-host for the third season of The Real.
Braxton, along with Tamera Mowry-Housley, Jeannie Mai, Adrienne Bailon and Loni Love have co-hosted the talk show since its 2013 premiere, but it seems as if all has not been well behind the scenes, culminating in Braxton’s exit. The news was confirmed with a joint statement issued by Braxton and The Real citing concentrating on her solo career as her reason for leaving.
“The Real and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season,” the statement reads. “She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career. Everyone associated with The Real appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
Tamar shared her side of the story on Instagram, with a long post saying that she was “stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted.” She also warned her followers that “every one who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light.” You can read her full message below:
Braxton has also stopped following all of her former co-hosts, except for Tamera Mowry-Housley.
At the time of this article’s publication, no other members of the cast have commented on Tamar’s exit.
