Janet Jackson has surprised fans around the world with a slightly cryptic announcement about postponing her Unbreakable World Tour to plan a family with her husband.
The 49-year-old diva married 41-year-old Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana in 2012 and it sounds as if the two are now ready to get serious about starting a family. Jackson announced via social media that she’d be suspending the second leg of her tour due to a “sudden change”, thanking her fans for their support and asking for their understanding in the meantime.
“On August 31st as you probably know, I launched the Unbreakable World Tour. First I just want to thank all the fans for coming out and seeing the show. Thank you so much you guys made it so enjoyable,” she said in the video.
“We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,” she continued. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family (she said with a big smile), so I’m going to have to delay the tour. Please if you could try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up. Doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”
While Jackson didn’t explicitly state that she’s expecting, the nature of the message already has the rumor mills spinning.
