‘Creed’ Star Tessa Thompson Reportedly Cast in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Creed star Tessa Thompson could be headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe very soon.

The talented young actress has reportedly been cast as the female lead in the upcoming third installment of the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok. The 32-year-old got her first big break in Veronica Mars and has been popping up in an impressive line of work since then, most recently winning praise as Michael B. Jordan’s love interest, Bianca, in Creed.

Now the star is reportedly taking her talents to the MCU. Natalie Portman won’t be returning as Jane Foster, so many believe that Thompson could be filling in as the hero’s new lady love. Although not much is currently known about her role, sources have told Deadline that she will be “kind of superhero” and fans can look forward to her appearing in other Marvel films.

Thompson is currently a regular in HBO series Westworld, and will star in the upcoming films Salt Water and next year’s Ex Machina follow-up, Annihilation.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to head to theaters November 3, 2017.
