A Mariah Carey Reality Series Is Headed Our Way
Fans of Mariah Carey are about to get an inside look at Mariah’s World.
E! has announced that Carey will head to the network for an eight episode docu-series that will follow the pop diva as she balances the beginning of her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour with planning her wedding to Australian business mogul, James Packer.
“I’m excited to bring my fans into my life for the next journey I’m about to embark on,” said Carey in a statement. “I’m already having so much fun with this documentary and I know you will too. There is nothing like capturing these moments.”
Rumors surrounding the superstar heading to reality TV have been swirling for a while, but now the network is ready to spill the details, promising fans that they’ll see “a unique, vulnerable and surprisingly humorous side to Mariah” that they’ve never seen before, while also “showcasing her unparalleled celebrity lifestyle filled with true glamour, maximum luxury and ultimate stardom.”
“Mariah is one of the most captivating pop superstars of our time and one of the rare artists whose first name alone is instantly recognized around the globe. We’re excited to partner with Bunim/Murray Productions, Mariah and Stella Bulochnikov to offer our viewers exclusive access into her private world,” said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Programming & Development, E!.
The network hasn’t set a premiere date for the series yet, but when it does, “Mariah’s World” will air globally across E!’s 17 international channels reaching 153 countries in 24 languages.
Here’s to hoping the show fares better with critics than Carey’s 2001 film that will never go away, Glitter.
