J. Cole may have spent the last year selling out arena’s across the nation, but the biggest performance of his career will take place next month.
President Obama has invited the rapper to perform at the Democratic National Committee’s reception and show during SXSW in Austin, Texas on March 11. The announcement comes a month after Obama invited Wale to perform at his final State of the Union.
Cole’s longtime friend and chief of the rapper’s Dreamville Records label, Ibraham “Ib” Hamad, shared the flier on his Instagram with the caption, “When the President asks…”

While the fundraiser is not affiliated with the SXSW festival, it is scheduled to take place at the Austin Music Hall on March 11 -the first day of the popular festival. Tickets for the event range from $250 for general admission all the way to a whopping $33,400 if you would like to co host the event.
