Lupita Nyong’o Rocks New Look on ‘Rhapsody’

Lupita Nyong’o is back with a new look for the latest cover of Rhapsody.

The 12 Years a Slave actress appeared on the cover of the luxury lifestyle magazine with the byline A Force To Be Reckoned With, a clever play on words connected to the actress’ upcoming feature in the high;y-anticipated release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The 32-year-old actress looks stylish and fierce sporting a beautifully textured angular-cut bob.

Inside the issue, Lupita reminisces on her days as an overeager production assistant on the set of The Constant Gardener, starring Ralph Fiennes.

“Ralph is a very still man on set,” she recalled. “It would be very quiet, and that made me uncomfortable. I’d try to make chitchat, asking, ‘What’s your favorite film? Of all the films you’ve been in, which have you enjoyed the most?’ He was so polite, and he responded to me. At one point, though, he just said, ‘Lupita, give me my space.’”

She also recalled a time when she was scolded for talking onset.

“Suddenly the assistant director was white in the face with rage. He said, ‘You never interrupt the director!’ I didn’t even know who the director was.”

Fast forward 10 years, and Lupita’s production assistant days are long gone. Now, she is a star with a production assistant of her own, and understands the need for “space.”

“The time before a camera rolls, the moments before my foot steps on a stage, have to be meditative. I have to withdraw from the world as I know it. It’s about listening quietly to my inner motor,” she says.
