Rihanna Taps Kevin Hart and Lionel Richie for Annual Diamond Ball
Rihanna has landed some major talent for her second annual Diamond Ball charity event. Kevin Hart will host and Lionel Richie will perform.
Diamond Ball will take place on Dec. 10 in Santa Monica and will benefit her Clara Lionel Foundation, which aims to improve the quality of life in different areas of life across the globe. The organization is named after Rihanna’s grandparents, Lionel Braithwaite and the late Clara “Dolly” Braithwaite.
“I’m so proud of the work the Clara Lionel Foundation has done in its first year and can’t wait to celebrate with the iconic Lionel Richie and incredibly talented Kevin Hart at this year’s Diamond Ball,” Rihanna said in a release.
The night’s events will also see Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino honored with the first Diamond Honors Award for his philanthropic efforts.
“This foundation is close to my heart and I am so grateful for Michael Rapino’s support and committment to our cause,” Rihanna said.
Last year’s inaugural Diamond Ball raised more than $2 million for her non-profit. Proceeds purchased two new pieces of equipment for the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital in in the singer native Barbados.
This year’s event will take place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Dec. 10.
