Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for Concussion, starring Will Smith as Dr. Bennet Omalu, a real life neuropathologist who discovered how football-related trauma was becoming a health crisis within the sport.
The trailer shows Omulu battling the NFL as they repeatedly deny any link between a repeated blows to the head and the development of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
“The NFL does not want to talk to you. You’ve turned on the light and given their biggest boogie man a name,” co-star Alec Baldwin says in the trailer.
The cast also includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Stephen Moyer, Eddie Marsan and many others.
Concussion hits theaters on Christmas Day.
