Back in April, it was announced that NBC would be airing a revival of The Wiz. Now, the network announced two of the superstars that will be making their way down the yellow brick road.

Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige are the latest stars announced to have joined the cast of NBC’s The Wiz Live!

Latifah will play the titular Wiz, while Blige will take on the role of Evillene, the Wicked Witch of the West.

The television broadcast will be executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron with Kenny Leon named as the director of both the live television event, as well as the Broadway revival. The pair have also served as producers of NBC’s live musical production of The Sound of Music and Peter Pan.

Latifah and Blige join a cast that already includes Stephanie Mills – who played Dorothy in the original Broadway production of The Wiz – as Auntie Em.

According to Us Weekly, sources say that Beyonce is in talks to play Glinda the Good Witch. As for Dorothy, NBC is said to be looking to cast an unknown teenage girl.

NBC’s live production of The Wiz Live! will air Dec. 3.
