Mariah Carey’s greatest hits album, Mariah Carey #1 to Infinity, will feature only one new track and she debuted it on Sunday (April 26). Pulling from the forthcoming album’s name, the single titled “Infinity” is a break-up ballad, featuring the singer’s signature high notes.
The 90’s-flavored heartbreak anthem is laced with not so subtle lines that seemingly refer to her relationship with estranged husband Nick Cannon.
“Why you mad / Talking bout you mad / Could it be / That you just lost the best you / Ever had / That’s yo bag / Yep that’s too bad,” she sings.
Cannon filed for divorce from the “Always Be My Baby” singer in January. Initially the couple kept quiet about the split, but things seem to be getting a bit ugly with the release of this song.
Set for release on May 18, Mariah Carey #1 to Infinity is part of a reunion collaboration between Carey and Epic CEO L.A. Reid, who produced her best-selling album The Emancipation of Mimi.
