Rihanna stepped out in New York City over the weekend to promote her upcoming animated feature, Home, where she attended in an ensemble quite different from her usual style.
Turning to one of her go-to designers, Adam Selman, the superstar opted for a more conservative approach to promote the children’s comedy. Wearing an emerald long-sleeved dress with mini black bows and a matching cardigan, Rihanna paired the outfit with pointy heels and black ankle socks. The twinset is featured in Selman’s Fall 2015 collection.
Ironically, the get-up was a far cry from one of Rihanna’s most memorable Adam Selman moments on red carpet when she donned an embellished nude gown for the 2014 CFDA Awards.
The 27-year-old entertainer plays the voice of Gratuity ‘Tip’ Tucci in Home, where she co-stars with actors Jim Parsons and Steve Martin.
“I tried to give her a little bit of my personality,” the singer explained on Good Morning America. “A little sweet, a little innocent, but she is sassy and she is vibrant, and that’s what I think really connects with the fans. They kinda identify with her. They feel like they recognize her. She’s a little familiar and even the accent comes out a lot of the time as well.”
Home hits theaters March 27, where you can also hear Rihanna’s “Towards The Sun” in the film’s soundtrack.
